In an open process, I am making myself more familiar with the behavior, language, and properties of paint.  I want my paintings to perform with a kind of equipoise.

The simplest definition of my work is found in the explicit properties on the surface.  I want my images to be taken literally—as units of a dynamic viscosity.

They are celebrations of subjectivity, of emotive, physical, and visceral realities manifested in material itself.

The physicality of my work presents itself as records of my consciousness engaging with some kind of action.  It is about a balancing-out of energy traveling through a viscous material, a medium, expressed in impulses, transmuting gestures into paint.

I believe that a painting can exist both as image and fact; it is both an illusion and a concrete reality.  My paintings perform within this spectrum.
